What Games Do Famitsu Readers Want From Square-Enix?

This week, Japanese magazine Famitsu has a big Square-Enix feature, in which they've conducted quite a few surveys with their readers with some different questions about the company and their products. In said survey, quite a few questions were answered, with the top 3 or top 5 results being published for most. Below, you'll find a few of the questions and their most popular answers.

When asked who their favourite game creator at Square-Enix was, Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts) won first place with 321 votes, while second place went to Akitoshi Kawazu (SaGa, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles), who received 235 votes. In third place came Yuji Horii (Dragon Quest), receiving 217 votes.

In another survey, focusing on games, readers were asked which game they would most like to see a remake or a sequel of. It should hardly be a surprise that Final Fantasy VII snagged the first spot here, with 290 votes. Xenogears came in second, with 90 votes, and in the thrid and final spot The World Ends With You landed 50 votes.

A different survey asked which upcoming Square-Enix game they were anticipating the most, to which most readers replied Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Next in line was Final Fantasy Type-0, and in third place came the long-awaited Dragon Quest X. Much like most Famitsu surveys, these were conducted via their website, Famitsu.com.

In light of this information, please tell us in the comments - which games are you most anticipating, which sequels/remakes would you love to see the most, and of course, which Square-Enix developer do you like best?

is it just me or are those numbers really low, the poll numbers i mean. that is just some low numbers...

The list is quite a bit off from what the magazine says for most anticipated games overall June 24th 2011: 1. Tales of Xillia (PS3) 2. Dragon Quest X (Wii) 3. Final Fantasy Type-0 (PSP) 4. Dark Souls (PS3) 5. Photokano: Picture Girlfriend (PSP) 6. Final Fantasy XIII-2 (PS3) 7. Dragon’s Dogma (PS3) 8. Mario Kart 3DS (3DS) 9. 2nd Super Robot Wars OG (PS3) 10. Metal Gear Solid: Rising (PS3) Anyway, to answer the question: I would love to see a remake of Xenogears more than anything, although I really liked the style of the first and a remake might ruin it. I would also like to see remakes of FF6, 7, and 8; but again, I am worried about them ruining the style - the PS3 FF7 demo had Cloud looking like a teenaged Ellen Degeneres. I would also like to see Final Fantasy Legend 1 and 2 for Gameboy remade. Games I am looking forward to the most: Dragon Quest X. I wish I could say I was looking forward to Final Fantasy 13 part 2 and part Versus; but I am not currently hyped about them. Favourite Square/Enix employees? Including old ones: Tetsuya Takahashi, Yuji Horii, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Nobou Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, Masato Kato, Yasumi Matsuno, Hitoshi Sakimoto, and Akitoshi Kawazu.

This Famitsu surveys are always not in the slightest representative, they say absolut nothing.

I hate to sound pessimistic but I'm not looking forward to any of Square-Enix's future titles, at least the ones that have been announced thus far. If XIII-2 comes to the 360 and can develop a sense of atmosphere and an underhanded weight to the plot that previous Final Fantasy titles have had, then I'll reconsider.. I just miss the melancholy music of Final Fantasy 7, the plot twists of 6, the unique characters of 9, the epic showdown in 8, and the interesting characters found throughout the series.. I couldn't relate to one character in XIII, I've never been a fan of Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts has had so many indirect sequels and prequels it's very off-putting to attempt to jump back in with KH3. I'm definitely looking forward to ports or remakes if any are announced, though I doubt it with their current direction..

I would definitively want a sequel to the world ends with you, one of the best if not the best game square-enix has made in this generation. With that said there are plenty of sequels I would like, especially from long forgotten Snes classics that deserve it a lot more than FF13.

After playing DQviii (my first time to play a game in this series) and DQix. I cant wait to see what DQX has to offer! also have to go with its creator Yuji Horii.

OOOOOOO I Want to see how that new Devil May Cry turns out... I actually like the more emo look of Dante and would love to play that ASAP. Ohhh and I want to see how Tomb Raider is going to come out??? Like will it be able to complete with Uncharted??? Yes!!! And I would love to see a new Kingdom Hearts in stunning HD Visuals with that "Only On PlayStation" marker in the top right of the box art. :)

Seeing The World Ends with You up there made me smile. A sequel for that would be great!

Please, look over what you type. You have typo's, this isn't professional. As for my votes, best director Hironobu Sakaguchi, although he left Square Enix to form Mistwalker. After he resigned, Square became Square Enix, and he is the creator of Final Fantasy. Most Anticipated remake: Super Mario RPG. Not joking, I feel if Chrono Trigger or FFVI were remade it would ruin the game. FFVII might work, but that game is severely over-rated. As for most anticipated upcoming game: XenoBlade, but that doesn't count since it's out in Japan, so Dragon Quest X.

i want final fantasy VII on ps3 and maybe xbox 360. Square Enix know this game will see well, it was such a great game.

It would be great to see Final Fantasy VII on the PS3 with it glorious HD graphics. Imagine using the Knights of the Round Table in Glorious HD and possible 3D!! Keep the game the way it is (story, plot, world maps) but upgrade it to high tech CGI.

I hate to say this (or type this) out loud but I am actually looking forward to FFXIII-2. I know the last sequel X-2 was not that great but the one video I saw about XIII-2 made it look promising. Hopefully it only expands on all the good things from FFXIII instead of completely revamping them.

Game I want to see remade Vagrant Story Most awaited sequel, I have to wonder after the success of DQ IX, and being on the hush about it for SO long with the Wii U about a year a way, what exactly are they trying to do with DQ X. My gut is that it will be half assed, thus I want to see how they blow it and explain why it sucks outside of them not trying.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is more anticipated than DX10 in japan? urmm...ok o.o Im happy to hear it but i wouldn't have guessed it with Japans DX sales :P

No love for Kingdom Hearts 3 apparently. Also, why do they want a remake of TWEWY? It's a fairly recent game.
