Final Fantasy XIV Trial Extended Again, Deus Ex Gets a Big Delay
by Chris Arnone, posted on 16 December 2010 / 1,237 ViewsSquare Enix is not a happy house right now. The numerous blunders on Final Fantasy XIV have lead to multiple extensions of the free trial period and the delay of the PS3 version. They recently announced yet another extension of the free trial as they've completely restructured the management team overseeing the game.
The company had originally estimated profits in the $142 million area, but are now estimating that will only be $12 million when their fiscal year ends March 31, 2011. Low game sales and lost subscription fees are mainly to blame.
Their other bit of bad news is the delay of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Originally slated for early March, the game has now been delayed "to spend additional time to further polish." They''re saying it should be out before April 2012, so some time in their next fiscal year, but no specific date beyond that.
