TGS 2010: The Last Guardian Confirmed for Holiday 2011, Trailer

At Sony's Tokyo Game Show 2010 press event, Fumito Ueda confirmed that The Last Guardian is aiming for a holiday 2011 release. This date was shown at the end of a spectacular trailer for the game, which you can find below.

While on stage, Ueda also confirmed that the game will support 3D. He also noted that originally, the main character in the game was a girl, but it was changed to a boy for two main reasons. First one was that given all of the climbing in the game, they thought a boy would fit better to fit the profile since a young boy would have a better grip than a young girl. The second reason was that the girl would've ended up wearing a skirt, and evidently they didn't want perverts to try and switch angles to look up the skirt of the main character.

Team Ico's previous titles, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are set to be re-released on the PS3 shortly.

I would have preferred a girl. They're usually a lot nicer to watch (and don't mean under the skirt, or at least only it), and there aren't too many girls/women in games. But I'm sure the game is going to be great the way things are now.
