The 32 Finalists for this Year's IndieCade Festival Are...
by VGChartz Staff, posted on 07 September 2010 / 451 ViewsThe 4th annual IndieCade Festival is coming to Culver City, California, where it will be showcasing a diverse international selection of indie games from October 7th to October 10th. There will be several talks, panels, and salons throughout the conference, including a post-mortem on Osmos, a discussion by ThatGameCompany about their upcoming Journey, and even John Romero discussing his early days as an indie designer, back when they passed out free floppy disks to get their games out there.
But no IndieCade is complete without an awards ceremony, and this year's will be on Friday, October 8th, and hosted by none other than LeVar Burton. This year there were over 350 submissions, which were then narrowed down to 32 by a group of 160 international jurors. All 32 of the finalists are eligible for all 13 of the following awards:
- Aesthetics
- Documentary Games
- Fun/Compelling (presented by Gamefly/Shacknews)
- Gameplay Innovation
- Sound
- Sublime Experience
- Technological Innovation
- Virtuoso
- World/Story
- Jury
- Vanguard (presented by G4TV.com)
- Wild Card
- The IndieCade 2010 Honorary Trailblazer Award for Lifetime Achievement
Here are the 32 games, representing 11 countries, with links to each of their websites. Detailed descriptions of all the games are available at IndieCade.com.
So how many of these have you played, and which ones are you rooting for?
Also, if you're going to be in the Culver City area in October, these will all be playable during the festival's Game Walk, which is open to the public. Yay!
