Here we see data representing the global sales through to consumers, and change in sales performance, of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.  Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods.

"Year to date" sales for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 sales are shown in series at the top of the table and then just below a comparison of 2010 versus 2008 and 2010 versus 2009 is displayed.  This provides an easy to view summary of all the data.

The Wii continues to post lower numbers this week.  If sales trends continue as they are, then by sometime in September it will fall into negative territory.

Wii:  DOWN year on year this week by 22,000 or 12% and UP year on year - year to date by 1.98%.

The PS3 has a good week this week and is up year on year by more than 30% again , quite an improvement over last week.  We are now simply waiting to see how far ahead the PS3 can get before the huge negative effect of the anniversary of the Slim launch is felt.

PS3:  UP year on year this week by 31,000 or 32% and UP year on year - year to date by 39.49%.

The 360 continues the recent excellent form on the back of the 360S launch.  it is now firmly in UP year on year - year to date territory.  The 360S launched this week in the EU and so next weeks numbers will have two days of improved sales to report ,the following week a full 7 days.  There should be another healthy boost.

360:  UP year on year this week by 41,000 or 39% and UP year on year - year to date by 3.13%

I'm really interested in how the 360 Slim turns out in Europe. My long-term prediction about Europe:
If 360S is only able to hold the lead fot some weeks/ a month, Europe's HD winner will definitely be PS3.
However, if the 360S is able to penetrate Europe's HD even longer or even with when GT5 is released, Europe would Xbox 360 territory for this gen.

Fantastic as always!!

If 360 stays flat this holiday with 2008 numbers, it'll do 12 mill+
