Ys Seven, Legend of Heroes & More Coming to North America

XSeed Games, the US publisher, has partnered with Japanese developer Nihon Falcom to bring a collection of six different games in the Ys and Heroes of Legends series to North American PSP owners.

The collection isn't a single package, but they will be released one by one through the partnership of companies.

Ys Seven

The six games are:

  • Ys Seven
  • Ys: The Oath in Felghana
  • Ys I & II Chronicles
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (Trilogy)

Ys Seven looks to be the first of the six games that will spawn later this summer from the new agreement. Regarding this title it's said, "The game promises some 30 hours of gameplay and a battle system in which players control a three-member party in real-time combat."

Ys: The Oath in Felghana is actually a remake of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys, and shipped in Japan just last month.

That's a whole lot of RPG for your handheld. This is truly a great partnership for any fan of Eastern RPGs.

Which title's got you the most pumped?

I'm getting all six. Hope they decide to localize Brandish. I'd also like to see Xanadu Next, just not on the PC, so I hope Falcom ports it to another system and then XSeed localizes it.

Wow, this is incredible news... I was just looking at a video of The Oath a few days ago and forcing myself to file it away under "awesome games that will never get outside of Japan."

This is excellent news. I really liked the Legend of Heroes games already on PSP. (it's a shame that they were localized so terribly) I hope the West can finally catch up a bit!

Wow. If Sony can manage this much support for the PSP, it might have 2 to 3 years left of still being viable.
