Curious how well Tokyo Mirage Session FE Encore will sell in the end considering they implemented the Western censorship into the Japanese version.

It's been that way for a while, really. PS4 took a long time to take off, and never peaked all that high. Even the Wii didn't perform all that well in Japan. Switch is the only non-dead thing because it is the successor to the 3DS, so 3DS is now dead, Vita was never really alive, the entire XBox brand was dead on arrival, and PS4 is a pure home console in a country where home consoles as a whole have been pretty dead for generations. Switch succeeds because of its hybrid status allowing it to be treated like a portable in a country where portables are popular and a home console in countries where home consoles are popular. Most likely, the Xbox Series will be dead on arrival as usual, like the entire brand is, and the PS5 will do okay once it gets a few key franchises, but will struggle to get 10 million. Meanwhile Nintendo will do at least reasonably well with any portable experience it puts out.
