Marvel's Spider-Man Sells 3.3 Million Units in 3 Days, Fastest-Selling PS4 Exclusive - News

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Marvel’s Spider-Man sold 3.3 million units worldwide for the PlayStation 4 in just three days. It is now the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive, beating out the previous record set by God of War, which sold 3.1 million units in three days in May 2018.
One million units were pre-ordered, which is another record for Sony.
"Our expectations are always set at the highest levels," said Stephen Turvey, Sony's global senior vice president of sales. "While Spider-Man has had a rocky history with video games in the past, Turvey credits developer Insomniac Games and Marvel with "bringing Spider-Man back to gaming in a way that you want to experience it."
The figure does not includes the sales of the limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro bundle.

Seems like it was a misinterpretation made, 3.3 includes Pro bundles.

If only MS followed Sony's with their exclusive centric approach.
It looks like they are only just now starting; they are acquiring more studios, etc.
This whole gen with every Sony exclusives;
Bloodborne has sold xxx becomes PS4 fastest sell exclusive, then Uncharted 4 sells xxx becomes PS4 fastest selling ....... then this continues for damn near every exclusive since 2014.
So it barely outsold GOW, still nice job for Spidey hopefully it will join the ten million club in 2019.
With the holidays, plus Sony having to chance to market it with both Venom and Spider-Verse films, 10 million should be pretty easy. Now if they can make more of those LE consoles, Sony’s just gonna kill it around this holiday.
Gotta be over 3.5M with those Pro bundles added.

I think Sony said in their statement that it’s the fastest selling PS exclusive of all time. Yet another 12 - 15 million selling PS4 exclusive. Sony will have several games that break the 10 million mark by gen’s end. Crazy how much things have changed since last gen.
The PS4 is far from being dead and it already outsold PS3.
My LT sales prediction for PS4 is still around 125 - 130 million. Could be even more depending on when PS5 launches. Very solid numbers for a brand that some predicted would go under this gen.
Fastest selling Sony exclusive and I think it will be the fastest selling ps4 game to hit 10m.

I expected much more as I love Spiderman, but still a stellar result. Sony is really picking up their game with games this gen.

Dunno, just expected it to handily beat Gow, like reach 5m. Don't get me wrong, it's an unreasonable expectation, but I love Spidey, as well as this game.
I was thinking at least 4 million, myself, but 3.3 million (excluding bundle sales) is still a very solid number for an exclusive title. I believe that with the holidays just around the corner, and the hype from films like Venom and Spider-verse, this game has a huge amount of potential to sell several more millions before years end.
I'm not sure how I feel about this, I haven't played it so I don't know if it's worth the hype yet.
If you like a Spider Man and open world games, it’s a must. It does borrow a lot from other open world games, but it makes excellent use of them, and the game is the closest thing to a perfect Spider Man experience. I know you tend to be a big critic of PS4, on this site, but there’s really no reason to deny yourself from enjoying a really good game.

i dont like the spiderman-movies, but the game is really fantastic and beautiful.
@Think I have a buddy that isn’t a fan of super heroes either, but I bought him a copy of this game, and he’s enjoyed so far.
