CEO of PUBG Corporation ChangHan Kim announced PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has topped nine million players on the Xbox One as the game leaves Xbox Game Preview. This figure is up from eight million in July.

Today, the Full Product Release (1.0) update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds released for new and existing owners across the Xbox One family of devices," said Kim. "This is a big moment for the PUBG Xbox community, now over nine million players strong, who have been every bit an important part of the development process since we first launched in Xbox Game Preview in December 2017."

Kim added that the developer plans to continue updating the game with new content and optimization.

Wow, those are some impressive sales. Does anyone know how bulletproof is the deal with Microsoft?. Is it like a Bayonetta/Sunset Overdrive situation or more like a Nier/Crash type of deal?.

It's not funded by Microsoft, so it's just another timed exclusivity deal, probably for an entire year.

There was something about Rare helping them create water effects or something but not sure how that implements the deal they have going.

Are those 9 million players all actual $30 game sales or are they getting it for free somehow?

Guarantee when it releases on PS4, it'll top these numbers in less than a month.

Dream on lol. You just admitted that this game on X1 is bigger than every PS4 exclusive.

Hopefully it never releases on PS4. It's a low level asset flip game, that has been in early access for the majority of its time existing. Terrible games like Ark, PUBG, H1Z1, and Fear The Wolves should stay on XB1 and/or Steam.

@Barozi How so? All I'm saying is that just like every other big multiplayer title, more people will play it on PS4 than on X1, and as usual Xbox will look bad by their own success metric.
