According to an apparent leak spotted by Leak Review, Nintendo is updating its Animal Crossing website in a move to make more room for potential future installments.

Do you think a new Animal Crossing for the Switch is about to be unveiled? And if so would you be interested in it?

Smash and Animal Crossing would definitely help Nintendo get to 30M units by next March.

Miyamotoo (on 08 April 2018)

It will be over 30m buy end of this year.

Well tickle my testicles, what great news.

Nintendo has already said that Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will be able to connect to an up coming animal crossing game. At this point it would more of surprise if an animal crossing game did not come to the switch.

I've been assuming Animal Crossing is coming this year because otherwise Smash being the only major franchise game from Nintendo for the whole year would make a very weak year.

If Animal Crossing comes out this year then having Pokemon this year as well would be overkill.

Animal Crossing on Switch would get an insta sale from me.

Lets gooooo!!!!

If that's true, then they just won 2018. Smash, Octopath, Animal Crossing, and Fire Emblem all in the same year would be solid. They need something since Kirby, didn't pan out, and NMH3 could swing either way.

LuccaCardoso1 (on 08 April 2018)

Travis Strikes Again isn't No More Heroes 3. NMH3 isn't even announced yet.

How do we know Kirby didn't pan out? It at least sold 300k in Japan, and we don't know hardware sales from the 16th on, nor software sales for NA and EU just yet. I think we should wait before coming to that conclusion. But yes, Animal Crossing, Smash, and Octopath are good enough to last me the entire year. Fire Emblem in December would be overkill but welcome imo.

Fire Emblem is supposed to happen this year, but I have no idea how they'll find time in the calendar to fit so many games...

Kirby seems to be at the top of the digital charts on the eshop as well.

Kirby is having some it's best numbers it ever had in Europe, seems to be doing really well in NA and Japan too.
How can an obvious 2M seller cannot pan out ?

I mean didn't pan out as in wasn't a critical success. Yes, people are buying it, but I don't care about that. I care if it's a must have game. It's not.

Well, it's certainly been speculated since long ago. A new Animal Crossing on the Switch is an inevitability

Marth (on 08 April 2018)

Please let it be true. The Switch is goddamn perfect for a Animal Crossing. Only thing I fear is that it will have shortages again if we get AC and Smash Bros in the same year. :D

LuccaCardoso1 (on 08 April 2018)

Well, there's still Pokémon, Metroid, and Bayonetta for 2019 if that happens. People need to stop worrying about shortages, Nintendo has plenty franchises. And now that all Nintendo developers are working on the Switch, there's nothing to worry about.

I think he meant console shortages rather than a shortage of games being released.

Slownenberg (on 08 April 2018)

He's obviously talking about hardware shortages, not shortages of franchises.

Oops, I misread it, guys... Sorry ^^

With Nintendo's 1st party library alone, I don't think Switch would experience many droughts. We're combining software from 3DS and Wii U essentially. I think Smash and Animal Crossing as 2 big Nintendo titles for the year is fair. Both speak to for the most part different tastes.
