Nintendo Reveals PAX East 2018 Lineup - News

Nintendo has announced its lineup of games that will be at PAX East 2018 in Boston from April 5 to 8. 

"We love being able to get fun games from Nintendo and our partners into the hands of some of our biggest fans," said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "PAX East gives us the opportunity to showcase some of the best new and upcoming games for Nintendo Switch."

 

Here is the list of Nintendo Switch games playable at the Nintendo booth:

  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze from Nintendo
  • Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition from Nintendo
  • Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido from Nintendo
  • DARK SOULS: REMASTERED from Bandai Namco Entertainment
  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus from Bethesda Softworks
  • Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes from Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda51
  • SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy from NIS America
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy from Activision

Don't get me wrong... While it is finally great to see a Nintendo system well supported, doesn't anyone feel a bit like we've entered a time machine? Crash Bandicoot, Dark Souls, Tropical Freeze, Hyruoe Warriors, all of these are old games. Where's the original IP? Nintendo typically had bad third party support but at least they had exclusives. As a Wii U owner, I still have no reason to make the jump yet. People will soon start being disappointed if all the Switch is are Wii U/360 ports and the occasional inferior current gen port.
