I was skepitical about the game at first with the change in hand of developers and telling a story I thought we already knew( some parts we do some we don't). but Deck Nine really pulled it off and it feels very much like the orignal (A large number of characters and locations from the prevoius game appear in some form and most of the new characters where enjoyable as well. ) but with their own chloefied twist( chloes essintaly a wannabe version of the chloe from the first game being only 16 and on a journey of self discovery simliar to max in the orignal.

The only negatives for me where chloes talkback system that replace maxs time travel which was only avaible a few times over the course of the three episodes and isn't alaways good to use story wise( fixed negative or postive outcomes each situation, depending whether or not you choose to use the talkback option and are succsessful with the speech checks).

As well as the shorter story( less time spent with some characters and places to leave room for the main plot, similiar to the first with maxs time space hoping, accept chloe has to walk or get a ride since she can't you know stare herself into a photo or whatever the hell max was doing. ) only being three episodes vs five from the orignal Lis for the main story, plus a bonus episode with max and chloe as kids just before max moves, which I don't think has released so can't judge it yet. there was a couple of possible plotholes/retcons even though the majority of the story does tie in and set up some of the events of the orignal game, at least from chloe and rachels story arcs as far as I could tell and only discovered and played the orignal game for the first last summer.

overall if you loved the first and at least liked chloe or can tolerate her as the main character. (I know some fans either disliked chloes character, rachels character or missed the time travel ability from the first since all your decsions are locked in now and the coversation wheel dosent always correctly hint at what chloe will actully say combined with the under ultilised talkback system. this might explain the mixed reviews.)

This should be a shorter trip back to arcadia bay and blackwell acadmey with more teenage angst and drama for chloe and her new found bff.
but if your still on the fence errorist I'd wait and grab it when it's on sale as I do think it's a tad overpriced consdiering it's shorter story with a young max and chloe episode which i'm still yet to play so can't judge either way yet.

Oh and yeah I did love it. can't wait for life is strange 2 by Dontnod or another spinoff by deck nine if there allowed to do one.

an after the storm game following either of the two endings from the first game with either chloe and max on the road or max at college would be awesome but very unlikely unfortunately.

I’m really sad this is using Unity now. Unreal Engine looked so much better.
Reviews have been very mixed. I loved the first...I’m scared of being disappointed.

The first life is strange had about the same scores.

The first LIS was still by Dontnod and this is not. Still sceptical, mainly because of that.
