Sony Expects 130 Games to Release on the PSVR in 2018 - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 08 January 2018 / 2,503 Views

Sony Interactive Entertainment told Nikkei that it expects 130 games to release on the PlayStation VR in 2018.

That would increase the number of games available for the virtual headset from 150 to 280.

The increased number of games is due to the VR headset having sold more than two million units worldwide.

Thanks Siliconera.

That's really cool to hear. There are a couple of VR games that are among my most anticipated games of the year, and it's great to hear that there are so many more to come.

Sony, people will start taking your VR serious when you start producing AAA 1st party games on it instead of riding the waves of cheap indie and 3rd party games. Honestly I know ill get downvoted but they are treating the VR like the Vita at this stage. Bring some serious guns to the table and maybe VR might go places sooner rather than later.

“Thanks to PS 4 Pro’s strong sales and support from third-party developers, Sony PS VR recorded a shipment of 1.7 million units, accounting for the largest market share in 2017,” says Jason Tsai, analyst of TrendForce.

What make you think they aren't out front of nearly everyone with content. Skyrim, GT, Moss, Dreams, Resident, and the entire suite of games for the PSVR shows that Sony is serious about it. You want a AAA 2D game. A AAA VR game will not satisfy you.

I read this post and thought "wow, this person has not been paying attention to PSVR" then I read who it was posted by and thought "Oh, so it's actually willful ignorance" But I guess I'll point out that you're wrong anyways.

As far as 1st party games go, PSVR has Blood and Truth from London Studio coming out. Which is a full fledged AAA 1st party exclusive. Then, there are several major second party games coming to PSVR this year. Such as The Inpatient, which is a prequel to Until Dawn.

No matter how you slice it, PSVR support has been really strong. I mean, it's probably going to get more exclusives in 2018 than some consoles.

Azzanation in your mind, Sony =/= quality. You're not fooling anyone here.

You do realise PSVR alone has more exclusive games than XBox in 2017 and 2018?! Including indies!

Errorist76 erm are they good exclusives? I mean an expensive product to play a game you can happily play without isnt anything to go bonkers about. How about Sony actually support there own product with there own 1st party games instead of relying heavily on others?
Also i dont care about Xbox exclusive nore do i care about qauntity of exclusives. I brought Xbox for 1 franchise, i couldn't care less if thet have 100s more.

@azz Stop disinformation please and go inform yourself before saying such bullshit. It's not even a matter of opinion, it's just blatantly false.
