Enterbrain President: Monster Hunter: World Could Sell 10 Million Units, Final Fantasy XV Ships 7 Million Units

Enterbrain President: Monster Hunter: World Could Sell 10 Million Units, Final Fantasy XV Ships 7 Million Units - News

Hirokazu Hamamura, president of Weekly Famitsu’s publisher Enterbrain, in a recent interview with Mantan Web discussed video game sales.

Hamamura said that Nintendo did not expect the Switch to sell as many units as it has been doing in Japan, and the PlayStation 4 is also selling well thanks to games like Final Fantasy XV and Dragon Quest XI.

He said that he heard Final Fantasy XV has now shipped seven million units worldwide and that he considers the game a "huge success."

Monster Hunter: World has the potential to sell 10 million units worldwide lifetime, he added. The Windows PC release on Steam will help increase sales of the game.

Monster Hunter: World will launch worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26 and for Windows PC in fall 2018.

Thanks DualShockers.

I'd hate for this game to be considered a failure because of unrealistic expectations.

I hope SquareEnix doesn't take the relatively good sales of XV as a cue that we want more of the same type of character design and story-telling. We're enjoying the game in spite of those elements.

XV on PC will sell at least a million as well. Heres hoping some mods can make the game that much better!

There is no way. I don't think it will surpass Monster Hunter 4 ultimate (4 millions). There is not much that sells on PS/Box that isn't gun or sport related or else its mostly an exclusive with lots of marketing. Horizon was so heavy marketed and really well receive and is far from 10 millions. And i think the game will have a hard time passing the million on xbox one.

Monster Hunter World will be successful but 10 million is totally unrealistic. This would not even be achieveable when it would also arrive on the Switch worldwide.

No efffing way. Monster Hunter World will underperform in Japan (at most 2 mil imo) and will fare slightly better everywhere else.

All in all, I expect ~4mil lifetime, which is far worse when you consider the effort and higher costs.

No way it can reach 10m, not even half that.

On vgchartz ff15 is already at 6 million physical. Considering digital and that it was also released for pc I believe it should be closer to 8 million. I really wanted it to reach a milestone of 10 million.
