I only count gen 1 and gen 2.
I personally own, Pokemon Blue, Crystal, White, Y, Alpha Sapphire, Moon and Ultra Sun. I skipped the third and fourth generation because I thought Pokemon was for children. I got back into Pokemon because of the competitive online multiplayer.
The only gen I missed was Black 2 / White 2, and I did end up buying that a couple years ago.
