Outside of team ninja games, it's always the case.

Best way to play this game. But all versions are fine. Even the 360 had a good port.

Superior but barely, given the cost of a high end pc it’s very close to ultra settings, not forgetting this is before launch, wait until developers acclimatise to the hardware and titles are optimised from the get go...

Why are you talking about the "cost of a high end PC"? Do you really think that a PC worth the same amount as an Xbox One X, or a little more, can't do what it can do? You don't need a high end PC to match a console. If anything, consoles are usually the overpriced pieces of plastic.

No, my point is that it will deliver better results than a £450 gaming pc. Hell, my graphics card alone cost me a similar amount and tomb raider runs almost exactly how it does on the One x. Add in the benefit of a 4K drive and I think “overpriced piece of plastic” doesn’t do the value proposition of this system any justice. The only weak link is the processor in the box, but this will be negated somewhat by console optimisation, as developers work to one set of specs as opposed to pc user which has all sorts of various components, and this doesn’t change the overall value on offer here.

You completely missed the point. It won't have better results than a 450$ or 500$ PC, it will be the same or similar performance. Components don't magically appear cheaper for consoles. Unless you think the console is being sold at a loss by hundreds of dollars?

4k on PC can be achieved the same as it is on consoles for the same price. The reason why you don't hear it happening? Because most PC gamers care more about framerate and a decent resolution, than a 4k resolution and bad framerate. The goal post for consoles is only resolution because that's more easy to market.

If you read what I wrote, I said "usually" for a reason. The Xbox One X is a great value for the consumer.

I agree with your point regarding resolution/frame rate and marketing. I don’t agree that a pc with the same specification can be built at the same price point but I’m open to being proven wrong if anyone can cite an example. A better processor would have fixed the frame rate issue but it would have elevated the manufacturing cost; I recall reading that Microsoft are already taking a loss of some degree on each system, which having built a number of my own rigs, would fit with my maths. Absolutely agree with you on the value proposition to the consumer.

So you conveniently agree with me on everything that makes Xbox look good and PC look inferior?

Comparing a PC to a Console is not like comparing a brick to a piece of metal. They're both the same thing except the OS and parts, and even those are much more similar on Xbox One and consoles this gen in general, than ever before. Xbox One specs are just custom built, but they're still parts that could easily be used on a PC. At the end of the day the difference between a PC and a console is the OS.

The problem with comparing the price of a PC to console is that people bloat the PC's hardware to make it easier to make a console win. Most comparisons include the cost of Windows 10(very overpriced) and a mouse and keyboard. When you're making a machine like a console, you're just focused on making one convenient box in which you can sell at a price to pay back RND and marketing.

I would recommend you watch the very good, informative series called "The Potato Masher" on youtube. Currently because the Xbox One X isn't available so they can't compare it to their 4k build. Once the Xbox One X comes out I expect a lot of interesting comparisons. They have videos going as far back as February 2015 showing that a 350$ PC can beat a PS4. One thing to consider is that they don't adjust the price of their PC build, so even though they state it's 350$ it would be much cheaper to build now then back then.

At no point did I say they were different, so I’m assuming the last was aimed at someone else. I’d wager that it’s likely I’ve been building systems almost as long as you have been alive, this is not a topic that is alien to me. As a side note, it’s slightly concerning how irate you are coming across discussing such insignificant things :/

Oh, you've been building PC's as long as I've been alive? My mistake, you must automatically be right! Ye wise, old sage xD

Why would you automatically assume i'm irate? I'm not. My comment is just long. Lol.

Looks good, if you haven't played this on PC at Max settings, should definitely play it on the X.

This game still doesn't even compare graphically to Uncharted 4.

Uncharted is a great looking game for sure, personally I think it’s purely better lighting that give it a slight edge visually compared to this. On another note I played Detroit: Become Human a couple of weeks ago on the Pro and that was a nice visual treat on a Sony 4k tv.

To be fair, multiplat vs. tailor made exclusive from top tier studio.

Uncharted 4 doesent waste resources making a world worth exploring. Thats my biggest gripe with it, big areas felt soulless even if they did look nicer.
