Expensive paper weights within 6 months to a year, IMO. Given Sony will never allow it for Playstation the only future for in-home VR is on open platforms (i.e. PC) where porn applications and porn accessories can be used. That's the only real future for VR.
No chance Sony allows porn on their PSVR?
In Japan maybe.
it outsold its VR competition, it needs just to have a price drop to 200
@Ruler
Samsung VR sold the most
Thats not true VR
"not true VR", the Scotsman fallacy doesn't work here.
Sorry, but you can already watch full real porn in PSVR. Not just cinema mode.
@GodOfPeace3
Any AO games?
DOAX3
Merely watching porn through a VR headset is not the future of VR. It's the active (albeit only virtual) participation in the porn that is the future. Companion devices that augment the experience will never be available for PS. But they can be incorporated into the more open platforms.
DOAX3 is AO?
Do you folks plan to start tracking VR headset sales at some point?
At least, they've kept their expectations reasonable.
Seems decent enough for a 400$ accessory. Once the price for this and the PS4pro go down it will do better. Right now price is too prohibitive for the masses. At 400$ for both I know I would pick it up.
Not bad, hopefully they can keep it up
Hope it gets a cheaper price. I think this can have more potential and shows how innovative Sony is always trying to be with their products!! Shame that they aren't always too eager to promote their amazing pieces of technology.
It's basically the Sega CD. Awesome concept but not ready for prime time and too expensive.
Great sales! Playing Resident Evil 7 in VR was the best, imo the only way to play that game if you can afford it! So awesome.
If they were able to produce more they would have sold more. Crazy shortages all over the world!
Yes, i'm sure that's it. They just planned to produce less than a million in what 4 months? So the developers could enjoy this great userbase of 900k to sell their games on. Of course, theres lines and outcries everywere about how cool VR is, how many must-have games there are and how despite selling less than the Vita it's somehow a big sucess.
Lol!!!
Last time it was in stock in Japan over a month ago people queued up in huge numbers to get it.
When did I say Sony planned the shortage? It's well documented there is a big shorted of oled screens WW and that's the reason they can't produce many. Read my comment again with the above knowledge and you'll see why I lol'd
