Rumor: PS4 Sold 1.1M Units in November in the US, Xbox One Sold 1M Units

Rumor: PS4 Sold 1.1M Units in November in the US, Xbox One Sold 1M Units - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 01 December 2016 / 14,003 Views

NPD reported the PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console in the US in November.

Exact figures for the month weren't reported, however, a source told Windows Central that sales between the two consoles were close. The PlayStation 4 sold 1.1 million units, while the Xbox One sold 1 million units.

Sales for both consoles are down when compared to November 2015 NPD if the figures from the source are true. The PlayStation 4 sold 1.54 million units a year ago, while the Xbox One sold 1.30 million units.

Ehm, i don't buy it.

Not after what said sony, and with pro release. Impossible.

I can still buy PS4 Pros in store and online here in Canada, so they don't appear to be supply constrained or flying off the shelves. It's entirely believable. In fact, I'd go farther and suggest that this suggests early signs are that consumers aren't excited about a .5 update to a console and that the Scorpio plan might be stronger. Time will tell.

If it comes from the group that make up information all the times then you are doing the right thing.

Just wanted to say that apparently on reddit they proved Jez Corden lied about the numbers. This "rumor" is false.

Not great news if true, less consoles sold then last year while we have the new PS4 Pro which all pre-orders counted towards this month, if true, december will be close too.

Year three is traditionally the peak for most consoles. PS2 peaked that year as well.

If 1.1m was the amount ps4 sold in November then ps4 must be killing it outside US.

Not to be rude or anything, but why make an article concerning statistics based off of a rumour/rumours? wouldn't it be better to wait for exact or more accurate statistics?

I'm not buying. The PS4 was at around 48 million by September and they are now at 50 million. I don't think the sales reached the 2m mark, but we have to be looking at a 1.5 to 1.8 number.

These are just sales in USA.

Wasn't this the most successful;black Friday ever for Playstation? Also seeing PS4 sold 650k two weeks prior to black Friday and it still sold over two million units in a day. I don't think the PS4 is facing any problems.

1 Million new PS4's in November in the States, that is phenomenal for Sony. (if the rumours are true)
