Crackdown 3 to Release 'Earlier' Than Holiday Season 2017 - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 05 December 2016 / 7,020 Views

Microsoft delayed the release of Crackdown 3 to 2017 in June. Microsoft Game Studios held an Extra Life charity livestream over the weekend and Design Director Clint Burdock, Art Director Dave Johnson and Executive Producer Peter Connelly have given more details on when the game will release.

The studio is looking to release the game "earlier" than Holiday season 2017.

Crackdown 3 will support 4K resolution on the upcoming Xbox Scorpio.  The Scorpio will be released during Holiday season 2017.

Thanks NeoGAF.

One of my most anticipated game. The Crackdown game are just flatout fun. I'd like to see the 360 games on X1 BC.

That isn't particularly confident wording. Wanting to release a game at a given time is not a dedicated release window. As it stands, the game has been in development so long since the destruction trailer showed in 2014 with basically radio silence since Gamescom 2015, it makes you wonder if there haven't been issues integrating the cloud technology as fully as they initially wanted to. Watching the clips, it gets even shakier when some of them seem really uncertain about things like the 4K on Scorpio while only one guy seems even remotely certain, and how forced the "2017" felt with the release date question. I would like to be confident here, but none of those guys even seemed to be on the same page.
