Final Fantasy XV is the Series Second Biggest Launch in the UK - News

FIFA 17 has remained at the top of the UK charts for another, according to Chart-Track for the week ending December 3.
Final Fantasy XV debuted in second place. It is the second biggest launch ever for the series behind only Final Fantasy XIII. Steep debuted down in 24th spot, however, it is the fourth biggest opening for a winter sports title ever in the UK.
Here are the top 10 best-selling titles (combined sales) for the week:
1. FIFA 17
2. Final Fantasy XV
3. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
4. Battlefield 1
5. Forza Horizon 3
6. Watch Dogs 2
7. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
8. Pokémon Moon
9. Pokémon Sun
10. Minecraft: Xbox Edition

Final Fantasy XIII was the turd that skewed things. It got critically great reviews, was widely panned by actual players, and had far better sales than it deserved because of hype, leading to a turd trilogy (though admittedly the games improved in ways from XIII to XIII-3). XV is genuinely fun, improved, and good in plenty of ways. Divisive depending on what someone expected out of their RPG experience, but it solved the linearity issue that XIII had with a cast that is actually relatively likeable without that one character that you constantly wish you could run a sword through just to hear their voice acted pained screams of death as they never spoke another line again.
