Infinity Ward: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Criticism has Strengthened Our Resolve - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 24 August 2016 / 16,884 ViewsWhen Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was first announced it faced a lot of criticism. The reveal trailer on YouTube has over 3 million dislikes, compared to 516,000 likes.
Developer Infinity Ward has taken the criticism from fans and is using it as motivation.
"We're happy the response has been positive, but we have to stick to our lathe and focus on making this game the best it can possibly be," said narrative lead Taylor Kurosaki about how much more positive fans are about what was shown during Gamescom. "Infinity Ward has wanted to make this game for such a long time.
"[The criticism] strengthened our resolve. We just had to get back to it and complete our mission. Reyes has a mission to complete, we do too. It's amazing how analogous some of these things are - the burden of leadership is something a lot of people at the studio feel."
Kurosaki added that the more details are released about the game the more positive the response is from fans.
"What we've been seeing is, the more assets we put out, the more the response has got more positive," Kurosaki added. "I'm glad the trend is the way it is."

Good. To hell with haters. When we say the COD trailer at E3 everyone's mouth was on the floor. Its embarrassing, as a member of the gaming community, to see focused hate group-thought especially when it is painfully obvious that this game looks amazing.
Fun fact: This is the first one that interested me since COD4. Never liked the World War setting.
Meh... the game will still sell shit tons. Remember when several people were expecting BF3/4 to outsell that year's CoD. It did not happen. It wont happen this year. The dislikes come from the vocal internet users who probably wouldn't even buy CoD to begin with. I wont, but at least I can admit that I have seen far worse game trailers this year...
"We're happy the response has been positive" ... what world are you living in where 3 million dislikes is positive?
I meant 1/100th not 1/20th.
They need to revert back to actual combat and not this futuristic BS. I think that's what people are sick of.
As has been explained, this direction was set in motion 3 years ago. They have three separate teams creating their individual iterations. I do believe there will be a change of direction. I think it's a no brainer that like Battlefield going with WW1 so too will COD revisit World at War or some other time, but a return to the past.

Granted, that's because Battlefield 3 came when CoD was still very popular (it's sales in the last few years evidence people leaving the series), and Battlefield 4 launched in a buggy state with tons of server issues.
This time, Battlefield 1 is hands down the most hyped winter FPS of 2016, while Infinite Warfare, is one of the least hyped. Unless EA f's up Battlefield 1, there's a good chance it'll surpase Infinite Warfare. I say this as a person who typically buys CoD every year, who will be getting Battlefield 1 instead.

Ironic. The person I responded to did his post twice by accident, and somehow that happened to my response!
Game series been trash since BO1&2, only sheep buy this game still…Battlefield been the better game for years but of course it doesn't get the hype train like COD does
If they are so commited to the game, why are they ransoming the MW remake behind it?
But, infinite ward is Activision. Would it be better if they were just called Activision developer? You are separating Activision publisher from Activision developer. The message on my post is for the whole of Activision. Not necessarely the devs, but the whole process that led to the decision.
I don't know if the bosses of this team had a say on it or not. Whoever in that company made the decision to withold MW behind pre-orders didn't have faith in this new CoD, despite what this dev might say. Thats all i'm saying.
What a world we live in. This franchise is highly disliked and yet it continues to sell millions upon millions of copies.
Because only haters vote: the mean stream gamers, who are the vast majority, don't read on the Internet and don"t care. Haters and bad comments are only 1 % of gamers.
Just read that stat: this article only has 1,787 Views, and that's VGC! YouTube voters are only 1/20th of viewers, 99% who saw the trailer will buy the game.
