PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Europe Lifetime Sales – June 2016 Update - Sales

Welcome to the latest edition of the ‘PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Europe’ article. This series compares the monthly and lifetime sales of the 8th generation of home consoles - the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

 

Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in Europe in June shows how much the PlayStation 4 has continued to dominate in Europe and has only grown its massive lead month after month. It has sold 1.88 times more units than the Xbox One and Wii U combines

The PlayStation 4 has sold 16.85 million units lifetime in Europe, the Xbox One 5.77 million units, and the Wii U 3.18 million units.

Taking a look at the marketshare, the PlayStation 4 tops the other two platforms combined. The PlayStation 4 has 65 percent market share, the Xbox One sits at 22 percent, and the Wii U 13 percent.

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 16,850,859

Xbox One Total Sales: 5,770,578

Wii U Total Sales: 3,177,304

 

The PlayStation 4 has outsold both the Xbox One and Wii U every month since it launched in November 2013. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U in June for the 23rd straight month. The PS4 outsold the Xbox One by 218,235 units for the month and the Wii U by 293,018 units. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U by 74,783 units.

When you compare monthly sales to a year ago all three consoles are down. The PlayStation 4 is down 92,421 units, the Xbox One is down 7,572 units and the Wii U is down 5,408 units.

Looking at market share for the month of June, the PlayStation 4 managed to achieve 65 percent. The Xbox One accounted for 25 percent of the consoles sold, and the Wii U a modest 10 percent.

PlayStation 4 Monthly Sales: 348,154

Xbox One Monthly Sales: 129,919

Wii U Monthly Sales: 55,136

Damn the PS4 already outsold the Xone 4:1 in.Europe. Can't remember the situation being so dire for MS in the PS360 era. Oh well perhaps the successor of the Xbox One can hold it's own in Europe outside the UK.

I doubt it. This gen is pretty much in the bag for Sony from the very beginning. Their only hope along with Nintendo's is to not screw up their next gen launches along with their image.
