The VGChartz Gap charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

PS4 Vs. XOne US:

Gap change in latest month: 23,198 – PS4

Gap change over last 12 months: 996,456 – PS4

Total Lead: 1,837,546 – PS4

PS4 Total Sales: 14,120,112

Xbox One Total Sales: 12,282,566

In June 2016 the gap in the US between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One grew in favor of the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 sold 23,198 more units than the Xbox One in the last month to bring the platform's total lead to 1.84 million units. The PlayStation 4 also sold 996,456 more units in the last year.

The PlayStation 4 launched in the US on November 15th, 2013, while the Xbox One launched on November 22nd, 2013. The PlayStation 4 has sold 14.12 Million units in 30 months, while the Xbox One has sold 12.28 million units.
