Xbox One Price Slashed to $299

Xbox One Price Slashed to $299 - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 31 May 2016 / 10,056 Views

Microsoft has slashed the price of the Xbox One by $50 to $299 for the 500GB model and $319 for the 1TB model.

The price cut includes the price of all of the bundles, except for the Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians 1TB bundle.

The price around the world is now:

US: $299
Europe: €299
UK: £279

The bundles have an asterisk that says it is "for a limited time." However, the top of the page does not have the asterisk.

Except that Amazon isn't the only place people buy the X1, there's Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc.

but that is the point Darkenergy, the console is already available at less cost than this new price cut is offering along with a handful of titles.

I'm only saying that not everyone buys the X1 using only Amazon, people also buy consoles by walking into retailers, especially the casuals.

Amazon is becoming a thing for casuals nowadays. Many retailers have shut down due to the sheer power Amazon and other online websites have.

I don't see it making that much difference, PS4 has had the lead for too long by now. Maybe in the US, but nothing can change its fate outside of it. At least it will help to sell the stock before the Scorpio arrives.

Who said its about outselling PS4? Maybe they want more X1s in the living rooms. Maybe its to help compliment the superior Scorpio next year. Its about making money and growing a business brand not outselling PS4. If they want to beat the PS4 they will give there consoles out for $1 and claim they won a generation in sales. More Xboxs leads to more online subscribers, more subscribers leads to more profits.

Good timing, because they will probably announce new hardware at E3 to replace this, the slim and scorpio, if the rumours are true they best sell the big consoles fast! Its not a bad deal, Altough I use the PS4 more, Xbox one has some great games.

Should have been the launch price. X1 wouldn't nearly be in as bad of a situation if they did.

After it's reveal ... of course it would have had a bad launch at any price really.
