PS4 vs Xbox One and Wii U VGChartz Gap Charts April 2016 Update - Sales

The VGChartz Gap charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

 

PS4 vs. Xbox One and Wii U Global:

Gap change in latest month: 293,093 – PS4

Gap change over last 12 months: 5,788,756 – PS4

Total Lead: 6,618,156 – PS4

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 40,589,739

Total Combined Xbox One and Wii U Sales: 33,971,583

The gap has grown for 16 straight months in favor of the PlayStation 4 when compared to the combined sales of the Xbox One and Wii U. The gap in the latest month grew by 203,093 units and 5.79 million units in the last 12 months.

The PlayStation 4 leads by 6.62 million units. The PlayStation 4 has sold 40.59 million, while the Xbox One and Wii U sold 33.97 million units.

The fact that it is two high profile consoles vs PS4 makes this extremely impressive. Before this gen started we had people saying "Wii U will win the gen!" "No X One is the all in One people want, it'll pull away especially in America!" .... and the PS4 is dominating both of them, combined, even in America..

"No X One is the all in One people want, it'll pull away especially in America!" .... and the PS4 is dominating both of them, combined, even in America..

PS4 is still overtrscked by ~1 million though, but impressive nonetheless.
