E3 Website Lists Developers Working on Xbox One VR - News

The official E3 website has may have leaked that virtual reality is headed to the Xbox One.

The E3 website now includes a category called Virtual "Reality > Xbox One." Four developers have it listed under their E3 page Rebellion, Maximum Games, Readily Information Company, and 3DRudder.

One major developer has told Ars Technica that it is working on a virtual reality game for the Xbox One that will be announced next month and released in 2017.

It is possible that Microsoft is working on its own virtual reality headset or the Oculus Rift will be compatible in the future. Microsoft has already partnered with Oculus as all Rifts currently comes with an Xbox One controller.

Different sources have recently stated that Microsoft is working on an Xbox One Slim that will release later this year, as well as a more powerful Xbox One that will release in late 2017.

This should be treated as a rumor and speculation until an official announcement is made.

Thanks NeoGAF.

Considering the X1.5 would be able to have at least a GTX 970/R9 290X power capable GPU (and be around $399) it would seem likely thats what we will see.. The question is will it be your STANDARD Oculus rift that connects, or have Microsoft and Oculus developed a "lower-end" version to cut costs that works with the X1.5 ... I would have to think they aren't expecting consumers to pay $499+ for the headset..

Hololens is a SELF contained computer.(not for consoles or connected to an external PC). And they ARE working on it.. But its YEARS away from being a consumer version being available.. VR is the current TREND, and their main competitor is doing it .... Why would they NOT have a VR option, and how in any way does it say they are NOT working on Hololens..

Damn cpg716, so harsh. I didn't think hololens would be a standalone device. I thought it would be like VR, where you connect it to a computer.

Lol. Sorry. But no. HoloLens is a computer itself as of right now. Thats why the developer units were $3000. As of right now its made to be self contained, an not connected to anything. But who knows what the future holds.
