Sony Plans to Ship 20M PS4 Consoles in Current Fiscal Year - News

Sales and operating revenue decreased 1.3 percent to 8.1 trillion yen, while operating income increased a massive 329.2 percent to 294.2 billion yen.
The Games & Network Services saw revenue increase 11.8 percent to 1.55 trillion yen and operating income increase 40.6 billion yen to 88.7 billion yen.
Sony shipped 17.7 million PlayStation 4 consoles during the 2015 fiscal year and plans to ship 20 million units in the current fiscal year that runs from April 1st, 2016 until March 31st, 2017. That would bring total shipments of the console to around 60 million units.
Sony also expects revenue from the PlayStation 4 to increase 8.3 percent. This includes hardware and software sales.

Consoles sales are slowly approaching 3:1 on the monthly basis world wide.
The only country where it is actually a race is the US, where PS4 is slightly ahead than the Xbox One. In Europe the monthly sales are 3:1 for PS4, if not higher. In countries like Germany the ratio is closer to 5:1 for PS4.

I'm not sure I'm buying a ps4 this gen as nothing exclusive looks appealing for my taste. My PC and Xbox One are serving me just fine.
Yeah some things never change on VGchartz, anyway since Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted 4 have launched is the PS4 more attractive to buy. When PSVR and Neo hit the PS4 only becomes more appealing for the mass especially after a price cut. So a yoy rise in sales is expected and 20m isn't that farfetched.
