Footage for 1666: Amsterdam Released - News

Patrice Desilets,  the creative director on Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2, recently regained the rights to 1666: Amsterdam in a lawsuit against Ubisoft.

The game was in development at THQ Montreal before it was acquired by Ubisoft and Desilets was fired.

View released footage of the game below captured by journalist Brandon Sheffield:

1666: Amsterdam is very similar to Assassin's Creed. Set in a historical city where players can explore. It is filled with NPC characters, is in third-person and feature melee combat.

Sheffield stated The theme of the game was to "be worse than the devil." This is why the protagonist can take control of animals.

The game would have been released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and the footage shown was from a build two years old. If the studio had not shut down it would become a current-gen title if the studio was not shut down.

"If the studio had not shut down it would become a current-gen title if the studio was not shut down. " The merits of pro-journalism.

It's always nice to see creators get the rights of their games back. Hopefully it can get done for PC/current gen consoles.
