Sony: 17.7M PS4s Shipped in Latest Fiscal Year, Lifetime Shipments at 40M - News

Sony has released its earnings report for the last fiscal year, which ended March 31st.
Sony shipped 17.7 million PlayStation 4 consoles over the year. That is an increase over the previous year where 14.8 million units were shipped. That would put lifetime shipment figures at 40 million units.
Sony's Game & Network Services division revenue increased 11.8 percent to $13.7 billion. This was due to the improved PlayStation 4 sales, as well as an increase in Network revenue from $3.2 billion to $4.9 billion. The division reported an operating profit of $785 million, an 84 percent increase year-over-year.
Sony as a whole reported $71.7 billion in revenue and $2.7 billion in pre-tax profits.
Sony did not provide a forecast for the 2016 fiscal year, due to the impact of the Kumamoto earthquakes.
