Bleszinski: I Hope Microsoft Doesn't Screw Up Gears of War - News

Microsoft acquired the rights to Gears of War in 2014 and is hard at work on the next game in the franchise, Gears of War 4. It will be the first title developed by developer The Coalition.

Cliff Bleszinski, the original designer to the franchise, discussed the franchise and how he hopes Microsoft will do the series justice.

"Now [the Gears of War franchise] is at Microsoft and I hope they don't screw it up. My fingers are crossed," Bleszinski told VideoGamer and transcribed by GameSpot.

"It's kind of like breaking up with an ex and wanting to see them get re-married but not to somebody who is better-looking than you," he added.

He did say the first Gears of War 4 trailer did make him "misty."

Gears of War 4 launches on Xbox One on October 11th.

I like what we've seen thus far. Frankly, the game mechanics alone make it better than most shooters.

Just pray for it, high hope they never ruin the franchise.

Bleszinski already ruined the franchise by refusing to release sequels on the PC claiming he didn't want his game pirated, so why couldn't microsoft release the other games on the PC now?

Well, sod's law says they will.
I mean it is standard practice for any IP owned by the console manufacturer to milk it down to its last sour drops until everybody is sick of it and then and only then finally allow it to die, alone and unloved.
...Until enough time has passed to dig up its corpse and make a few more bucks.
Hey. That's just how things work around here.
