Red Dead Redemption Xbox Backwards Compatibility Released in Error - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 08 February 2016 / 4,100 Views

Microsoft released Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One through backwards compatibility over the weekend. However, the game has been pulled and the company stated the game was released in error.

"Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles," said Microsoft's Larry Hryb, better known as Major Nelson, on Reddit. "Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available. We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon."

The truth is the game is coming but people got access too soon. It seems every month MS adds a few AAA releases to BC, hopefully RDR is the major release for February. Early on people doubted MS would get major 3rd party games on X1 BC, but they are getting it done.

People want access to it without relying on their old console. I have PS2 games I have yet to play primarily because I don't feel like connecting my PS2. If my PS3 or 4 supported the BC though, I might play them.
