Welcome to the VGChartz Gap charts. These charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

Gap change over last 12 months: 2,011,232 – PS3
Total Lead: 197,802 – PS3
Xbox One Total Sales: 19,430,872
PlayStation 3 Total Sales: 19,628,674
December 2015 is the 26th month of the Xbox One being on sale. The gap increased during the month when compared to the PlayStation 3’s 26th month on sale by 59,753 units in favor of the PlayStation 3. The PlayStation 3 currently leads by 197,802 units.
Both consoles launched in November. The PlayStation 3 launched in November 2006, while the Xbox One launched in November 2013. The Xbox One has sold 19.43 million units in its first 26 months, while the PlayStation 3 sold 19.63 million units.

2016 corresponds to 2009 for PS3. We all know what happened in the final months of 2009 for PS3.
a Big jump on sales ?, i dont remember when Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, and Gran Turismo 5, launched.
A 299 ps3 slim along with uncharted 2.

This surprises me actually. Considering how much PS3 in the early years was considered a flop, it's already surpassed the X1 in sales... X1 seems to be losing some steam compared to the previous generations.
