Well then. Sony is definitely wanting to secure it's position in the USA. It's smart to limit the deal to two specific bundles so once again it's not a temporary price cut. But It still creates the impression in people's minds that the price of entry for PS4 is $299. Relatively easily fixed by ditching all 500GB skus over the next few months at $299/$349 and dropping the 1TB sku to $349 at some point just as the 500GB skus are running out.

I'm surprised we didn't see any 360 or PS3s this holiday. But I guess its because both companies really want to push their new console.

Sony are really determine to compete in the USA on the holidays unlike last year.

Most importantly is how much of a loss this will hit Sony with. If they move 500k of these and are losing just $10 on each, that is a 5 million dollar net loss. Losing $50 on each one and $25 million is gone...

Again, competition is good for consumers. This is the time of year many US consumers will buy a console and Sony knows many want a Xbox.

That must explain why the Xbox is outselling the PS4 by such massive numbers... oh wait.

I think in the USA the X1 is not losing by that much. They are staying pretty competitive. It's only when you add WW numbers that the PS4 crushes the X1.

You just dont get it Mystro. Losing millions of sales to Xbox concerns Sony, even in the 6th gen. Therefore Sony compete aggessively. Especially in a region Xbox is popular. X1 will probably be near 20 million in January. Thats about 20 million units PS4 didnt sell because of Xbox.
