The wireless adapter will release on October 20th for $24.99 on the official Xbox website.
The Xbox One controller has been able to work on Windows PCs for some time using a USB cable but this will finally allow gamers to use the controller wirelessly. However, anyone who wants to use the wireless adapter will need a Windows 10 PC. Windows 10 is a free upgrade if you own Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Microsoft is really trying to force Windows 10 usage with things like this. I mean, c'mon. There is no reason that they couldn't have made a driver for both 8 and 10. Some 8 drivers didn't even need to be upgraded for 10, which means they likely could have made a single driver for both. On a different note, charging people $25 just so they can go wireless is obscene. This whole thing feels really poorly though out.
Agree, didn't even see or looked for the price, but damn 25 bucks for that is too much.
