G2A: LoL Ban is an 'Aggressive Attack Directed Towards the Entire Global eSports Community' - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 09 October 2015 / 6,291 Views

Riot announced earlier this week that it was banning G2A from sponsoring League of Legends eSports teams after it listed third party services which sell League of Legends accounts and offer ELO boosting services.

G2A has now released a defiant statement claiming that the ban is a damaging attack on the entire eSports community.

"[Riot has] launched an aggressive attack directed towards the entire global e-sports community in a failed attempt to dominate and control the industry," said G2A. Riot's email sent to G2A "has the ability to impact negatively on e-sporters, especially during this fabulous time when hopes are so high for great e-sports events."

G2A claims it tried to meet and work with Riot on a solution, however these efforts only led to "more and more demands" from Riot.

"This is Riot’s final word [for Worlds 2015] and it is so unfair for the e-sport community worldwide," said G2A.

Thanks PCGamesN.

ELO boosting or account selling is the worst. Those morons who get the high level ranked accounts go onto to play ranked and get shit on for not being at the same league and us regular players who earned our ranking get stuck with these bumbling idiots. I feel no sympathy for G2A.

Worse would be to keep supporting cheating services wich undermine the whole purpose of playing the game.

''it listed third party services which sell League of Legends accounts and offer ELO boosting services.'' - Riot has many many many flaws, and it sucks for the teams who will have one sponsor less but i would have done the same

How is it damaging the community? You cut into their profits so they are banning you from their event as punishment.

I agree with Riot's decision here, but your reasoning is something I cannot agree with. Now I don't know the exact details, but I imagine the real problem is helping to break the terms of service. Cutting into profits is no reason to do stuff like this, and should be illegal. (I don't know if it is though.)

Isn't ELO boosting and account selling the electronic equivalent of being a drug cheat?

How are they greedy? They've handled F2P in a great way, everything is free except skins.
