August 2015 is the 34th month of Wii U availability. The gap increased during the month when compared to the Wii’s 34th month on sale by 788,422 units in favor of the Wii. The Wii currently leads by a total of 42.70 million units.
Both consoles launched in November. The Wii launched in November 2006, while the Wii U launched in November 2012. The Wii U has sold 10.28 million units in its first 34 months, while its predecessor the Wii sold 52.99 million units.

This comparison is mean
Why are we still getting this chart, it won't change. Please add new charts such as ps4 vs 3ds, ps4 vs ps3 + x360, ps4 vs wii u + x1, or 3ds vs psp. Any other chart that might change or still has competition.
This is why eighth generation looks awful compared to seventh. The reason isn't because console gaming is dying, it's because all the fad followers who jumped on Wii did not return the next generation for another console. This isn't an industry dying: this is Nintendo deflating after it filled itself with hot air (aka casuals).
Did vgchartz REALLY feel the need to make this chart? It's just so sad...
