Wii U Sales Top 10 Million Units Worldwide - Sales

Nintendo's eighth generation home console, the Wii U, has finally surpassed the 10 million mark worldwide, according to the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart.

The Wii U reached the milestone for the week ending July 11th. The console sold 37,365 units to bring its lifetime sales to 10,016,730 units. 52,076,238 games have also been sold for the Wii U at retail.

Looking at the software sales for the Wii U, only one game has sold more than five million units; six games have sold more than two million units; and 10 games have sold more than one million units.

Mario Kart 8 is the top selling Wii U game with sales of 5.05 million units. New Super Mario Bros. U has sold 4.79 million units and Nintendo Land has sold 4.14 million units. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has sold 3.53 million units and Super Mario 3D World has sold 3.45 million units.

Well, at least you're not doing what that one N4G article did when the Wii-U passed 8.5 million. Having Mario smash a PS4 and XB1, when the console is clearly losing to those two, was just a bit odd lol

2 of those titles are still bundled with the hardware and another 2 spent holidays seasons being packed in with the console. So...Yay Super Smash Bros for Wii U for being the only game to sell on it's own! Woot!
