Divinity: Original Sin 2 Kickstarter Launched - News
by Craig S , posted on 26 August 2015 / 2,765 ViewsLarian Studios has launched its promised Kickstarter campaign for Divinity: Original Sin 2, the sequel to last year's highly acclaimed RPG Divinity: Original Sin.
"The theme of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is how your origins affect who you are and what chances you get in life. At the start of the game, you pick a single character and determine your starting stats, race, and origin story.
The campaign has a funding goal of $500,000 (the first title had a goal of $400,000). It has so far already raised $186,000 of that, so it should easily reach the $500,000 goal.
The game will include four player cooperative and competitive multiplayer, new types of elemental interactions, a much more intricate dialogue system, all-new skill crafting, new gameplay mechanics, new enemies, and much, much more besides. You can view the campaign page here.

Its still showing 34days remaining.... and its at over $607k atm.
Impressive they managed 500k in less than 12hours.
I really hope they'll add a stretch goal for a PS4 release. I sent them a message on Kickstarter, to see if they are planning to do so or not.
Here's an update. I received a messaged back from them, as follows:
Hi Bill, thanks for the kind words.
At the moment we're only developing D:OS2 for PC, with announcements on other platforms to come later. The Enhanced Edition of the first game comes out on consoles some time this fall, we're very proud of it, we'd love if you checked it out.
We've been avoiding thinking about stretch goals until we're fully funded. Things are moving a little quicker there than we'd expected so it may take us a day or two to catch up! Stay tuned, I guess!
Most predictable response ever. Kudos for trying though.
Looks like they hit their goal already. Not surprising, but great! As someone else said, curious to see what sort of stretch goals they'll add (I'm guessing a WiiU release a bit of a stretch, but I can dream, right?).
i want that game, but i think the kickstarter is a stupid money grab
So the studio didn't make any profit?
They already stated they put ALL their resources in Divinity: Original Sin. It sold good and they got some profit, but I guess they want to scale the game up. But with Larian's track record, you can trust them.
