Activision Blizzard has released its earnings report for the second fiscal quarter, which ended on June 30, 2015.

Revenue increased eight percent year-over-year to $1.04 billion, while net income increased four percent to $212 million. Non-GAAP revenue increased 15 percent to $759, while non-GAAP net income more than doubled to $93 million.

"Our strategic focus on expanding our franchise portfolio with captivating and original new intellectual property, innovating on new platforms, and expanding into new geographies is reflected in our results," said Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick. "We outperformed our Q2 targets and last year's results on revenues, digital growth, and earnings per share."

While overall sales might be up, World of Warcraft saw a decline from 7.1 million subscribers at the end of March to 5.6 million at the end of June. Despite the drop it is still the most popular subscription-based MMORPG on the market.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was once again a strong seller, and revenue was up over last year's Call of Duty title.

For the full year Activision Blizzard raised its forecast; GAAP revenue is now expected to hit $4.425 billion, which is a $175 million increase.
