Welcome to the VGChartz Gap charts. The charts are updated monthly and each article focusses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation, as well as comparing the 8th generation consoles. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

PS4 Vs. Wii U Global:

Gap change in latest month: 476,152 – PS4

Gap change over last 12 months: 11,173,275 – PS4

Total Lead: 13,489,889 – PS4

PS4 Total Sales: 23,217,798

Wii U Total Sales: 9,727,909

In its 19th month on sale the PlayStation 4 increased its lead over the Wii U by 476,152 units. The PlayStation 4 is now 13.49 million units ahead of the Wii U. The PlayStation 4 has sold 23.22 million units, while the Wii U has sold 9.73 million units.

The PlayStation 4 launched in North America and Europe in November 2013, while the Wii U launched in November 2012.
