Psyonix has announced that Rocket League, the sports-action game, will be releasing digitally on the PlayStation 4 and PC on July 7th.  The PlayStation 4 version will include Twisted Metal’s Sweet Tooth as an unlockable vehicle, as shown in the brand new trailer below:

The trailer also notes the following features:

  • Four player local multiplayer
  • Eight player online multiplayer
  • Season Mode where you can create your own team
  • Car customization with over 10 billion combinations
  • Dedicated servers

Rocket League will support cross-play between the PlayStation 4 and PC, allowing players to team up or go head-to-head across the two platforms.  It was also announced that Rocket League will be making an appearance at E3 in just a couple of weeks:

“And finally, we’re very proud to announce that Rocket League will be making an appearance at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and will be playable in near-finished form. Season Mode, splitscreen multiplayer, car customization, and Sweet Tooth himself will all be available to check out and enjoy all three days of the show. We can’t wait to see you drop by to enjoy it!”

Rocket League, currently in closed beta, is the follow-up to Psyonix’s PlayStation 3 game Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, which launched on October 9th, 2008.
