SAO Lost Song did 187K in it's first week on vita. I think people just don't want to purchase a new handheld for one game.

yeah, but SAO is more popular in JAPAN ( or probably everywhere else ) than Xenoblade. + this game was been only possible to be made with the new hardware. So no NEW 3DS = NO Xenoblade

I have a new 3DS and still haven't picked it up. $40 seems like a lot for a handheld port of a last-gen game...

I just recently bought a very good quality (case, manual, and disc in good shape) original Xenoblade on Wii for $68.
I preferred that over paying $200 or whatever it costs for New 3DS.

That's rather pretty low. Since XenobladeX is a VERY BIG game. In comparison, Sword Art Online sold around 190K in the 1st week only in Japan and it's on Vita, a supposed to be a dead system while 3DS the biggest gaming install-bases right now, only managed to sold around 80K in both Japan and Europe....
