New Star Wars Battlefront Screenshot & Info Revealed - News
by Craig S , posted on 24 May 2015 / 4,523 ViewsEA DICE has revealed more information about its upcoming Star Wars Battlefront game in a number of interviews with print gaming magazines. Here's a quick run-down of the key titbits to be gleaned from these interviews:
- EA DICE considers Star Wars Battlefront a reboot, not a sequel, and this has allowed them to approach it as if it were a clean slate.
- The game will have a distinctive 'EA DICE feel'.
- Unsurprisingly, the game as it is now was only possible on current generation consoles and PC.
- The developer wants to maintain a strong focus on planetary fighting and building a semi-contained fighting environment, which is why there won't be any space battles.
- Players will be able to select from male and female playable characters on both sides of the fighting.
- EA DICE has been given a large amount of insight into the upcoming film to help them create an authentic world. This extended to being given access to actual props which they scanned in to the game.
Finally, a new screenshot has been released for the game (shown above). It showcases one of the game's playable planets- Sullust - complete with two Empire Star Destroyers flying in low orbit.

Not sure how I even feel about this game anymore...
You don't need to, they should be the pnes trying to vie for your money, for me they sucked so hard at that part and the franchise just feels like a dead husk to me, the whole "starting fresh pls no judge us!" rule feels really cheap and low rather than admitting they can't do it and still release the game in time for the holiday's.
Still sitting on fence until I see gameplay @ E3!
No Campaign Mode, no Space Battles no purchase. Will most likely buy it used.
"The game will have a distinctive 'EA DICE feel'"... please, don't let it be Battlefield with a Star Wars code of paint. Also, I called this some time ago, but for $60, the content sounds bare bones. Compare it to BF III or Modern Warfare 2, and you'll realize what a rip off it is, given what we know. Don't get me wrong, I'm buying this game 100% sure, but they haven't given me a good reason to buy it brand new for full price, rather a bunch of them to get it used later on.
That first point in the bullet list sounds like a cheap hand wave to excuse missing features and the apparent lack of content. And as for the screenshot, is it an actual screenshot or an "in engine" render they are passing off as a screenshot? Not to sounds overly cynical, but this is EA we're dealing with.
