Following an accidental reveal earlier this year, Total War: WARHAMMER has now received an official announcement by SEGA. The debut trailer for the game can be viewed below:

Total War: WARHAMMER, the first part in a planned trilogy by The Creative Assembly, will feature the same turn-based campaign and real-time battles that fans of the Total War series have come to know and love.

“Gigantic monsters, flying creatures, legendary heroes and storms of magical power take their place on the battlefield, alongside thousands of warriors clashing in real-time tactical battles. All at your command.

In the turn-based campaign game of statecraft & empire building, you will find the Old World an unforgiving and treacherous place, filled with endless war and cunning alliances alike. Whichever race you choose to play as and however you seek conquest, you will be faced with a conflict that threatens to tear the very fabric of reality asunder.”

Total War: WARHAMMER  is set to release on PC, Mac, and SteamOS.

At long last! Just hope they don't screw this up like they did with Rome II

Dawn of War (w/ Soulstorm expansion) is my favorite Warhammer game. But that was a very tactical RTS, with small armies (Which is why I liked it, actually). Perhaps this could offer some good large-scale battles?

Yea, they keep reusing the same engine from years ago. I'm hoping they stop being lazy and make a new engine for this and spend the time to make it decent rather than a bug riddled mess.

It's Total War, so it won't play anything like them, ergo a comparison will probably be a bit impossible to make.
