E3 Hands-On: PilotWings: Resort - Preview

I realize E3 has just begun but already it can be argued that the story of the show is the new handheld system, the Nintendo 3DS, and after braving long waits in a scorching hot LA Convention Center I can confirm to you that the system and its much touted 3D abilities are the real deal.

But what about the games you ask? Well they were also on display at the Nintendo booth and I got some hands on time with Nintendo's new flight sim, PilotWings: Resort.

For the E3 demo the game featured two modes: a flying game where you were tasked with steering a place through rings, and a jetpack mode where you hovered your character to various items as you tried to collect them all. Once the demo completed you got a high score (which the lovely lady running the station told me was 'very impressive').

The game seems to be set on the same island that we visited in Wii Sports Resort, (hence the possible name connection). The 3D effect is also really impressive, of course you have to see it but take my word for it. It works.

No release information has been revealed but stay tuned.
