Google Bringing Cross Platform Gaming to iOS and Android - NewsVGChartz Staff, posted on 17 March 2014 / 1,903 Views
Google has announced that its Google Play Games application for both Android and iOS is bringing the two platforms together for multiplayer gaming.
As the service expands during the coming weeks, users of either operating system will not only have access to achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saves, but they will also be able to play real-time and turned-based games with other players, regardless of whether they are using an Apple or Android devices.
Google is currently updating its Play Games Unity Plug-in to support the new multiplayer features and is also introducing an early Play Games C++ SDK for cross-platform achievements and leaderboards.
Could this have something to do with Google's recent purchase of Green Throttle Games? It easily could, as rumors suggest Google is ramping up on the development of video games.
