Valve: Half-Life Could Come to VR, Matter of Resources and Does It Make Sense - News

Valve and HTC have partnered to bring the VR headset VIVE to the masses. HTC jumped the gun by saying Half-Life will be coming out for the headset. Valve later stated they are not bringing the series to the headset.

However, Valve programmer Jeep Barnett has told Kotaku that that Half-Life could come out for the headset. It depends if they have the resources and the time to do it. They have also brought some elements and settings from the game to test out the VR headset.

"We're not saying, 'no,'" said Barnett, "but we don't know what the right thing is [yet]. Our most precious resource is time, and we don't have enough time for people to do everything. Would we like to make all of our franchises in VR? Absolutely. But we don't have enough time or people. So we have to figure out what's the best fit, what plays to the strengths of VR."
