Iwata: Amiibo Designed for the US and Europe, Not Japan - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 03 March 2015 / 4,689 ViewsNintendo President Satoru Iwata has stated that Nintendo made the Amiibo figures larger to appeal to the audience in the US and Europe, according to Nintendo World Report. He was originally told they were to big to appeal to the Japanese audience.
"When we first explained Amiibo to Japanese distributors they advised us that Amiibo would be a little too big in size and cost slightly too much for a toy figure," said Iwata. "Now that we have witnessed solid results for Amiibo in the U.S., Australia and Europe, we believe we made the right decision."
63 percent of the 5.7 Amiibo figures sold worldwide have been in the US and Canada. 23 percent of the sales have been in Europe, 11 percent in Japan and three percent in Australia.

Now if only they would stock them...
I really dislike this guy. Nintendo could have been much better if this guy wasnt in charge. At least its good to see amiibos selling well.
