Sega recently announced they will stop developing games for dedicated gaming hardware and will focus on developing games for smartphones. However, Sonic Team leader Takashi Iizuka has stated he will keep on developing Sonic games for home consoles.

"Please rest assured, I personally have no plans to stop making Sonic games for home consoles," said Iizuka speaking with 4Gamer in an interview and translated by TSSZ.

Thats what they need to do to gain gamers trust back:

  • release downloadable versions of your games on the current gen console
  • make an HD remake of the Sonic Adventure series with the chao garden being compatible with handhelds/smart phones
  • work with Nintendo to release Saturn and Dreamcast games on the virtual console
  • start bringing Arcade games to home consoles after gaining enough profit
  • revive the Panzer Dragoon series (excluding Saga because I know the source code is lost which is retarded)
