Capcom: Deep Down Has Changed a Lot - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 19 February 2015 / 4,571 ViewsIt has been a while since anything has been heard about Capcom's PlayStation 4 free-to-play action RPG Deep Down. Capcom Corporate Officer and Deputy Head of Consuder Games Development Yoshinori Ono spoke with 4Gamer (and translated by Siliconera) about what has been going down with the game.
"It looks like deep down will take just a little longer. It also looks like some people are starting to ask ‘did the development come to a halt?’ but it’s nothing like that," said Ono. "We’re thinking about showing something that looks completely different from what previously shown, although it might be a while from now."
"The ideas we have for the game is much larger now compared to when we first announced it," he continued. "Rather, the ideas we had before might not have been good enough."
"When it comes to the service of online games, it’s a long-term challenge, so we must make sure to do the necessary parts correctly at the launch of the service, otherwise it’d be a shame to have an amusing game and not have any players stick around," said Ono.
"when looking back at the previous ideas we had for deep down, we felt concerns about it not being able to capture an audience as we would’ve liked, so it was decided to give it more time so that we can further enhance it," he concluded.

HAH! I thought they were referring to themselves. "Deep down, we've changed a lot..." But considering their slew of micro transactions for RE:R2, I don't think that change would be one for the better.
Hopefully they'll charge for the game, instead of the f2p policy bs.
